Loc.50 - Section 2. SW facing scarp about west of section 1 and about 100' west of fault. Beginning at top of silty-sand ledge made by footsats of Protocerviz cones, (i.e. - top unit 7 of section 1) (1) 4,0 Sand, vfq-fq, silty + clayey, massive, tough irreg. mixed, subgruwthc with gleyunite. Mottled gray, ltegray + greenish gray with orange to maroon sizing on fresh surfaces. w/hs yellowish gray, higher Fe concent. in lower 1.5. Inch + Fe impreg.srd 1.5. (2) 3,2 Shale, ddk gray silty to finely sandy with irreg. blobs + laminze of silt; weths gray. Lower 0.5 to 1.0+ is Fe impreg: interlam. Silt-sand layers sh. ptngs. weths red to OB + loc. ferrums crumbly Fe-stained ledge. Shale, carb.plant frags weth purple. (3) 5,0 Shale, silty+ sandy grading within a foot or two to more massive clayey silty sand with pads of clay sand + silt mixed. Considerable shale - really a massive mixture sandy clay + sticky sand. Yellowish gray, plant frays At top zone small dk blue gray ls. cones dte gr to gr-white patina, thin silty rinds No foss. seen flatten ovoid up to 1.2+ l.d. 40
