17. Cast of Scaphites pungens Bruckh. fig'd by Grossouvre 1908, p.37, pl. XI, fig. 12, b,c -> Lower Maastrichtian, Rumraed. This specimen has less pronounced hook than JAJ's CGS 10375 and is larger + more open umbilicus Septate whorls poorly preserved but show a subsidiary row of nodes on flank near the ventro-lateral row. Prominent umbilical bulize. BC ribbing like that on two speci, noted under 15. This seems a clear cut form look up original description. 18. Other Grossouvre fig'd spec., in casts poorly preserved and text figures are more helpful. G. includes a great variety within constricatus. None very close to type. Pl. XI. fig 3. A fat form, small umbilicus large vmb. swelling with one big node. Other characters vague fig 4a, 4b & 4c - more like a swell pungens but with smaller umbilicus, no nodes on septate part. It seems 12
