Fe stain on silt + pts gives it its distinctive weathered color. 2) 9,2 Shale, dark gray, weathers gray, flaky finely silty, some silt laminize and puds. 6.0 from base is vfq sand + silt layer impreg. with jvrosite. Between this jvrosite layer and ebentonite shale is blocky to splintery and brownish gray with some pink cast and purple brown stain on fractures. 3) 1,6 Bentonite, olive green, with conc-in-conc cones.
