Loc. 48 Bzdlznbs bluff facing NE on S. side Hump Cr. in SE1/4 sec. 31, T21N, R. 23 E., Carson Co., about 1 mile due E of SD 65. Hump Creek section i: Pieced from exposures just E and SE of small bended butte in E1/2, NW1/4, SE1/4, sec. 31. - Measuring up from gully floor - (1) 11.0 - ? Sandstone, frizble, greenish gray, fine- to med.grained, slightly glauconitic network of O-B stained (large Helymenites in lower 6', in massive SS, some scz[illegible] Tzueredia. Upper 5', cross-laminated, some tabular lzyors grey shale impregn. by Fe , no Helymonites, One lime cemented conc of Ostreza pellucida, Pteriz linguiformis, Tellina sp., Pteriz nebraskensis, and plant fragments about 1 foot from top. At top considerable O-B woth conc. chips. A sherp contact. (2) 21.0 Bzuded silty, bentonitic, fissile, brownish gray shale and thin beds of siltstone and fine to med.grained sandstone Lower 4.0 is chiefly shale with few thin beds sandstone as in (1) below-1c. contains glauconite A370 A371 36
