On Rt. 73 south of Faith similar story. From undoubted Pierre to obvious Hell Creek there is no outcrop of Fox Hills. It seems to be a completely soft unit, and may resemble Hell Creek. Conclusions: The Stoueville over Fox Hills is a unique facies of the fm. If it is Fox Hills. Possibly it is all a Hell Creek facies – sturdier than normal, which grades to marine & brecciated Fox Hills eastward. Possibly it is a locally thickened “Colgate” facies—which it resembles somewhat more than Hell Cr.
