LANCE CREEK AREA Loc. 101. Measured sections (A) Lower part: Begins in draw about ¼ mile east of N. Prong Crazy Woman Cr. N30 W dip, strike N60 E, dip 17° Unit 1 -3°, 27' plus 4.0 ft down from top conc ledge where meas. begun sand, vfg, silty and clayey, mixed, weatherous crumbly light gray to slightly yellowish gray outcrop. Clay in pellets and chips or streaks. From 3.0-4.0± concretization sand ledge showing irreg. bedding? if any, much vague small burrowing traces loc, very few large one 1/2 bedding. At top, similar conc. sand, weather, yellow to gray crumbly with some fb calcified flint masses. Small burrowing, irreg, dominates. Between conc layers sed. moves sandy upward. No fossils - no reccq. Ophios in this unit. 7+4=11 ft (1) Unit 2 +6°, 38' sand, vfg, clay blebs loc. and, more apparently, clay burrow fillings, weather, lght gray yellowish cst. Predom. mixed, crops as massive rounded oc. Bedding locally muddled by a few loc layers or partings clay and more extensive layers with small (15) 15
