Vegetation - S2 Salix alaxensis - Equisetum - Polygonum
Meade River, N. Slok Borough, Alaska
26 August - amazory. veg heights 2 to 180 cm! see S1 veg. account for position of S1
in relation to river and @ S1. Undustomy strongly limited to a few grammoideae (very
sparse), Equisetum, and bare mud. Some Polygonum and Astragalus also
present. It amazes me how these willows survive the onslaught of river
ice in early June.
