Locality 285 - An area showing intricate relations of indurated ledges in upper & lower Fox Hills. Lies on Bickle Ranch E of Firesteel Cr. in E½ SW¼; W½ 2nd NE¼ SE¼; SW¼ NE¼; sec 17, T 18 N, R 23 E. (1) Joint sets [N. 29° E ±] [N. 75° W ±] in NW facing wooded ledge. Ledge massive indurated ss up to 12' in single feccs + float blocks. Tencucdz- Ophiomorpha with latter predominant. A flat body elongate NW-SE with locally 30' ind. on SW underlain by TL, szud. Is ind. TL. thus NE (2) Nearly vertical face Irish Cr - TL over 50' high. It has pumby cones - Tencucdz Oosmiopha O. trususlucidz - much clearerly, muzzy proto buzuhs - about 10 to 20' below clay change. Nczvav it the linguicomnis zssoc in. Tenzvcdiz in ss above but not much a lower 20'. (3) Small butte. - Has Ophiomorpha cap, prob ovulves Bullhead N 15° E± N 70° W± (4) Section of Bullhead member E of fault. (Note strike of sheared SS or "diko" along fault is N 8° W - dont know what it means but strike of plygness.) 22.0 bb-dk arsh + thin ss lb. silt. 36.2 5.0 sndy zone, bels to llo rs ss x bm. mud, bs 9.2 bb, dk ar sh + silt + lb, minor ss upperp ← local cone-m cone cone. T.L. ss, massive, ophiomorpha.
