Loc. 73 Return visit with Mellora. River bank to NE shows part lower Irish creek lithofacies and intervening bluffs include slumps, in which possible to go below bentonite (lowest of old sec. #1-2), tie into good jzosite zone then pick latter up in river fecc. River cut Irish Cr shows excellent thinbedding also tabular masses of pyrite, but there are fossils loose in shulo - found Woculz + part of Spheno. Also, old sec#3 cut seems better cleaned than previously & basal banded beds do come in above the jzosite; they are bentonitic. Scouting S. side Grand between Loc. 26 and Plum Cr. (1) Spur about center N 1/2, sec 32, T. 20N, R 25 E On N side few scappy bzrc spots show thinbedded lower TIL Monh, overlain by massive chiefly bzrwan snd which has 3 layers large rk jacketed ledgy conc zones. (2) Locality 279 - South facing bluff along small flat and eastward trending spur, west of Grand River on Petersons Ranch in N 1/2, NE 1/4 sec. 19, 2nd Sedge SE 1/4, sec. 18, T. 20N, R. 25 E., Miscel NE quadrangle, Corson County, So. Dak. A section from Elk Butte into Timber Lake could probably be worked out here by carrying key beds slump to slump. On the spur the lower TCM is almost completely 27
