south of which and running west into
fjord between Hayter Head and Cape
Colombo there is another glacier,
South and West of Cape Colombo
there is a very large glacier, I presume,
The Rice Glacier. Kyttle Island cannot
be seen. Colviers Island (what was
called Colvier's Island) is a very
dark, bold crumble of rocks now
imbibed in a glacier stretching
from the Rice Glacier West and
connecting with a large glacier
which fills all of Smith Bay and
the whole circle of the coast
around to Talbot Inlet. Stretching
down the valleys from the mountains
there are twelve feeders connecting
with this coast glacier.
