Blowing hard (4) from the northward, "Yee-gil-so" as the Eskimos say, accompanied by drift. The delay starting hoping it will clear by evening. Travel by night and sleep by day would be preferable for many reasons thus giving me an opportunity for better sights for longitude, latitude and azimuth.
1-20 P.M.
Have walked to front of Alfred Newton Glacier to determine certainly I small island there. It does about 4 ways from land and about 200 from front of a glacier. Look from summit found 4 nights, then started a bare line of 350 steps to midway point of C.Herschel from which I took another round, then climbed up over C.Herschel to secure a granderme view of C.Saline and Bedford Pine Island.
