"meaning well and saw him a half mile away gathering the other cub with his team. At this time Ardis arrived and I yelled for him to run and shoot- and save the cubs. All the time I was backing around in circles trying to defend my little feldow from Ardis's Team who were found to get him. As his head was quicked under my arm, and behind me and the rest of him in front of me so had some difficulty in guarding all sides. Ardis having lost the mother ran to my aid with his whip, and helped me get a noose around his neck and body. Meaning well now came back with the male in his arms, one much larger than mine. As he held him tightly against his breast I heard him on the lip: 'Mine'
