Yesterday I was somewhat anxious over our meat supply for the dogs, thinking perhaps we had farced the mush-open. Today all looks bright again. I went to bed about midnight expecting the boys at any minute. They came down here about fourteen hours. At 2 this morning they came in with thirteen mush-opens. Our front yard is full up meat. I decided to rest the dogs another day and pile them up as well so we remained in our sleeping bags until 10 o'clock. A few minutes after breakfast Arlie spotted two bears right out in front of our igloo about a mile away on the ice. In about- an hour we had them both see a big male measuring 7 ft 6 in and the other a small female. Two dogs were so badly injured in the fight that one
