learn that land was seen
northward of Helen Island,
and later to north and
north west. From Lt Richards
on Cage Needlewood at an
elevation of 150 feet Linley
Land was seen at a distance
of about 20 miles, covering 10°
of the horizon in a north-
northeast direction.
