Crimson Cliff where we are in camp tonight on end of cafe. Mayali came along with us presumably for tobacco and grub. It is very dark in the east and looks very much like snow. We dought to go on to Karnali but the Eskimos tell me that there is much thin ice beyond the cafe. The boys are happy playing cards and singing, one an Eskimo tune and one "Danel Aug Cyn" which he has cought from the Victrola. Thursday Nov. 4th. Snowing hard this morning and very thick. The Eskimos as not dare to try the thin ice under the snow in such weather. I have decided to- wait awhile; it may clear of later. 12 r Work Sammy Yells, Kimith
