JP Myers 1976 Nyctea scandiaca Smithsonian bldg area, 3km S of NAREL, Barrow AK 31 May Stumbled on b a nest w/ 8 eggs. & looking nearby. & flew off + was captured w/ by &. By transect 2 on ridge to W saw our New pair w/ & doing dracula display to &. had Lemmey. Gasline Ridge, TRANSECT I owl nest w/ 5 eggs. As I approached, the & flew off and the & mounted her. the nest is within 200 m of the nest that was out here last year. 2 June 11 am. 9 egg in smithsonian bldg nest. 4 June 7 egg in gasline nest. 7 June 8 eggs in gasline nest. a new nest w/ 2 eggs on Village Ridge (see map p5 of journal) 8 June Alain [illegible], part of NAREL staff, told me this area of tending an owl nest w/ 1 km S of lab - 9 eggs.
