began cutting steps with fish and after cutting each step with rising just- to be griped with the hands or was only 35 below which facilitated matters and very little mind. when the work was done we were all covered with sweat. Had supper early and got right into our bags. Wednesday March 18th there decided that hard work did not agree with him so left in Glen. this morning, launching not followed without me riding him to we have now- two deerlers. Was obliged to leave a large part of their trails on the summit of glaciers. We came out at hard day but am not a bit discouraged. We are in camp fringed at western end.
