Haley 1959 Rangifer tarandus July 28 Frie seen on flank of Bear Mt. One seen on E. side of mine yesterday morning July 30 11 Caribou crossed then soon more in morning. Heading S.E. Aug 2 1 Caribou on 1 mile ridge in evening. Aug 1 10 caribou seen in morning near Willow Creek mouth morning S.E. 2 Caribou seen on one mile ridge in evening. Aug 3 4 caribou m. morning up pine nee, Willow Creek. Aug 11 Flight from Petunega to Barrow. None until Wainright 200-300 seen from Wainright to the Kegua Pine. From here a gap of more caribou + then a group of 50E + another of 5 before we reached Ly C. From here in, more. Sept 1-7 Pilots out several times hunting caribou with physiologists. Report caribou concentrated South W. of Point Lay - moving W.- Faint funneling between edge of foothills & ocean. At this rate should pass Ly A + Petunega camp en masse.
