Maker 1959 Ereunites puella (Semi pal.) May 22 Latemega Lows. Common. - Were present on May 20 when we arrived. Some displaying began yesterday. Considerably more displaying evident today. May 23 Frequently seen + heard displaying in the air. May 25 One pair near tent - heard one or two mating. Seen down in numbers. May 26 Recorded on afternoons walk. I think they are commoner than the number would seem. They are heard cranking their gears off+on through the day. May 27 Probably second commonest bird here. Not only the Longpan. Seven pairs were noted but probably this is way low. Their displaying meter is heard all day. There's a couple of birds fighting about the tent, two males settling up territories I think. Three Semi pals came flying by down river. One of above birds flew up & gave continuous settling call they made followed under them for 100 yds or so then turned flew down. June 13 Nest with 4 eggs - carex marsh - 20 feet from river edge - 100 yd from mouth of Willow Creek June 15 One on slope above camp. One displaying over carex marsh 1/4 mile upstream.
