Mabey 1959 Lunaria lapponica May23 Pitimeren Cris. One seen flying down river as we crossed in late afternoon. Earlier saw a shrewbud, possibly the species, flying high-headed downstream. May26 Flock of 4 flying - 2 males + 2 females. Sex dimorphism extreme in size - male small - red breastted, female, largest grey. Hadn't realized it was so striking. June15 Heard Godwit call from direction of Loon Marsh early this P.M. June16 Saw one near Longtail #10 nest. It flew over some + landed on rocky ridge. Not very noisy for a Godwit. June17 A male Godwit flew up from Loon Marsh Flw off with no comment.
