Duo canadensis July22 The 2 cranes are still present along willow Creek. I flushed them as I walked down from Parcort #1 next. They flew downstream a warp and landed, preened themselves + fed. They are Brown Cranes & not European cranes. Peterson: figure of Red lead patch confirms this. July27 Saw 2 on Loon Slough in morning. Flew off as I approached. July30 2 Cranes on upper slope of Anikin Mt. Feeding. From their actions I presumed they were chasing mice i.e Slow deliberate walking + an occasional quick stab. Didn't see any caught.
