Mabel 1959 King Eider July 21 Appeared to be a flight of King going West along coast today. Saw a flock of 100+ of them which landed on water off the nine mouth. Near by on water was a flock of 50+ of the same species. This identification based on amount of white on wings. Flocks were almost 100% males. July 27 Six male Eiders flying W. along shore in evening. A windy evening with large waves. Not a good night for eider to fly. Aug 5 Flock of 125+ flying along coast heading west in evening. Also evening. Somateria spectabilis
