Maku 1959 Anas formosa May 28 Pitmegea River, m. Alaska. Sighted a pair of Formosa or Barhal Teal the evening. Flushed them together from a small stream a mile upstream from camp. They flew across the river to a her on opposite shore when I had a good view of them. The moved again 200 yds S. on same side + I watched them then for a while again. They then flew on upstream. I made sketch of the male upon reaching the boat. Tom + I then went back with a gun but could not locate the birds. Sketch: white strip: yellow- Green-iridescent 3 white strips. white stripes Light tan - vermiculata. Feet yellow - duck of ward-duck size + Build. Female was tan-brown.
