Sept 1 Kaalah River, Alaska:
Walked down river to amber bluffs -
cast to bluff at far bend + back over land.
Cloudy drizzly day. Picked up nests
encountered along route) the Blue-crowned Gull
had abandoned their nest apparently,
a disappointment. Ran upland line on
way in & tucked Heath line after eating.
Sept 2 Kaalah River, Alaska
In 9 M John + I walked to lake to retrieve
field boat. I ran lines first and went around
by nest m little sister draws, Carried
boat back to tent by 1 P.M. In afternoon
retrieved last of nests.
Trapline were due to be picked up
in evening. Ran line + left them
out instead.
Sept 3 Kaalah River, Alaska.
Picked up trap lines first thing.
Packed + got all ready to go. Waited
about tent all afternoon. Plane
didnt show. In evening walked
up E. fork to first outcrop.
Sept 4 Kaalah River Alaska:
Cold, ice on water bucket m morning.
Low clouds, fog, snow. Permanent m
bed reading. Improvable to keep tent warm
