JOURNAL
Bed throat loon on a tiny pond towards
Cabin by shore. Swallow net in
cabin. Bug for a while in shrubs
Down by the cabin. Remarkably clean
for an shrubs house, found nothing.
Beer tracks all over beach.
Made butterfly net in evening. Closed
traps, nothing caught.
July 22 Patnega River, Alaska
A breezy cloudy day. warm. Made
complete round of nets. Set line traps
+ mated Lt#5, Parent#2, + Owl#4, then
crossed rine + mated Parent#3, + Owl#2.
After lunch made round of Lt#4, #11,
Bom#2, Parent#1, + Owl#3 in that order.
While walking along Barbal Drough from
net#4 to 11 I found an unusual looking
carbon antler. Set it out of the stream
to dry + will bring it in one of three days.
Visited the presumed Rough-leg nest on
slope across Willow Creek, found nothing
but feathers & pellet. Collected the latter.
Back at tent by 6. Closed line traps at
9. Nothing caught.
July 23 Patnega River, Alaska.
Set line traps in morning. Windy day,
in fact blowing a veritable gale. Decided
to swap off for the day. Tried to catch mucket.
