Journal rain + some sleet. Wind shifted to east in afternoon. Still no sign of a real break in the weather. After supper weighed Parrot #3, + Owl #2, + Owl #3, also checked live traps set for least weasel. Untouched. July 15 Litneaga River, Alaska. Plane day #2. Up at 9 +11. Weighed Parrot #2, Longtail 5 + Owl #4. Had lunch + headed out for other round. Weighed Longtail #4 + started for Parrot #1. Reached almost to Willow creek when I heard the plane. Cached my pack & returned to camp. Bob Main flying, he was alone, as much for FAT coming in. Didn't believe at any how. Bob flew again & returned in an hour or so with Stan. + made a second try + fetched Paul Childs. Both were a bit bushy. It seems they ran out of fuel 3 days before + froze their asses off, in all the snow + cold weather. Fell them a brief supper of hamburgers + potatoes & they departed for Barrow. The plane is due tomorrow bringing Tom Sovall + removing the remaining historian. Weather was warm + sunny all day until evening when rain + fog moved in
