Mike 1959 Journal May 28me + found that I was indeed getting out today. Had packing & confusion; finally off by 1:30 PM. At Taolah at 2:30 The second flight came in at 5:30 so. Bobby Fischer flew in. Dick Swade came in with me. Bobby stayed about an hour chatting one coffee. After he left I went out for a walk. Found a peregrine nest behind camp. Same pair as have always occupied this area - last year they were across the W. fork. Walked downstream & found the Eagle Flat pairs nest; also the Eagle Draw Longtail are nesting. Found a Tern nest in marshy area at W. end Eagle Flats. Saw 2 Short-eared Owls. Saw a nest of Longtail across river, from Fox Den bluff. Pine was high & didn't access to it. In pack by 1 AM. June 29 Raoul River, Alaska. Long-Tail nest Short-eared Owl Up at 10 A.M. + in field by 11 A.M. Went to Elephant Draw. Found nest w/ 2 eggs. Walked on up draw to top. Pair up then missing. Found a Short-eared Owl nest w/ 4 eggs in same general area. Walked down woods of big Suter. Spotted Parasitic pair & finally found their nest. Crossed Lake basin; found one Longtail nest in center; no others in basin. Great Blue nest (Carette) [illegible]
