Miche 1959 Journal June 26 Time back. The recent influx of pomarines some of which are defending territories has confused the situation so that I couldn't locate the nest. Went straight from ridge to top of Bear Hut. Followed it on around + checked on one Longtail nest along it also found the one not previously located. It had 2 eggs, one of which was pipping. On way in checked Pomarine nest #3 - egg not pipping & Longtail nest #3 likewise. Got lost in fog while crossingloon marsh. In at 7:30 PM. Spent evening writing letters. June 27 Barrow, Alaska Heavy fog in the morning. Wrote a letter or two under misapprehension that the plane waved not to me. It arrived however, at 1:30 with FAP+ John Boranda aboard. The plane remained for 2 hours or so & then returned to Barrow with Frank + myself. A brief stop at Lij A. Saw a Barn Swallow. At Barrow lay 5:30 PM. Had a shower wrote some notes & went to bed. June 28 Kaolak Bay, Alaska. No sign of life on part p Lbl people until 10 AM. when I encountered
