Plund 1952 August 14 Day spent banding on grid August 15 Day spent in the lab - catching up. August 16 Day spent in lab - in morning out in ridge plot. See data sheets August 17 Strong wind came up overcast as usual. Spent day in banding. August 18 Wind continues to blow - spent day banding. August 19 Overcast with occasional snow flurries spent afternoon out in ridge. Biting cold East wind blowing. Insect adults at lowest level since early this season. There was no surface activity except a few collembola + an occasional chneumonoid. A few spiders observed but not too often per replicated meta plot. In a rotophile pond on water surface there has been accumulation since August 16th, a film of Collembola - not in great numbers but conspicuously. August 20 Clear & warm. - revisited ridge plot area - only difference between yesterday & today is that an occasional Muscid fly encountered in legulate flowers of Senecio - for all practical purposes the picture at the plots even tho same
