Hurd 1952 Pt. Barrow, Alaska June 18 Snow Bunting Electrophanay (stomachs) - Chironomid larvae 4; seeds ±10 ?carey aquatilis and a few sprigs of green. - Tipulid-like larvae 7; vegetable matter mostly seeds; bulk of crop contains small irregular pebbles; difficult to estimate ratio of animal : vegetable matter. June 25 ♂ anthomyiid pupae - like those in meta pluto containing sphagnum moss ; 20 ?Chironomid larvae like those under driftwood ; no vegetable matter. ♂ anthomyiid pupae ±10; 15? Chironomid larvae as thru under driftwood; no veg. matter ♀ anthomyiid; larvae-prepupae 12 & pupae 66 Chironomid larvae 8; seeds 2 (all preceding from esophagus + saved) The stomach contains ±75 prepupa & pupae of anthomyids; ±20 larvae of same; ±20 Chironomid larvae; no seeds. ♀ anthomyido: remains of probably 100 pupae + an indeterminable ?±20 Chironomid larvae; 10 Seeds of carey aquatilis. ♀ 36 Carey aquatilis seeds; 23 chironomid larvae; 27 discernible preadult Tenthredinids; 41 Lycroid spiders - all preceding from esophagus #156 4 F/A. Pitikitea near the Shack or old Pt. Barrow. Stomach has mostly pupal remains of anthomyids probably ±75; ±10 carey seeds; a few spider legs; nothing else identifiable.
