Barrow, Alaska Red Phalange Stomachs June 11 - ±75 red chironomid larvae; 2 Caret aquatilis seeds; snail shell fragments. - ±100 caddis fly nymphs. - ±50 red chironomid larvae; 3 spiders; 1 muscid pupae) ±5 spiders. - ±50 caddis fly larvae. - almost digested but remains of snail shells and red chironomid larvae evident. - so completely digested an estimation of number, possible - contents suggest caddis fly nymphs. - bulk remains of snails - all remain through in pieces of the shells so difficult or not impossible to estimate #. - ±100 red chironomid larvae - ±100 caddis fly nymphs - 2 very long Tipulid larvae rest of stomach contents digested.
