Hurd 1953 July 26 afternoon on ridge. Generally clear but occasional haze clouds floated across our viewing it at intervals wind light SE with cold snap to it. Tundres brown than last visit occasional by last nights' frost? The old Pitaster beams showed first damage above the Pitaster leaves seem redder & edges turned up more. Insects lower than last visit. No Tryptids seen. Cimiprecious on the Muscoid females—let thy ar about 2-4 per sq. meter / 15 minutes depending upon area (Wahlot). The Scopaeutid alny index or emerging in small numbers. A large emergence of chummis occurred today. Most noticeable, clouds often blunt over water lake and the more marshy area. In archglide ponds—the tiny chummis are present on water surface— not too many (±3 per sq. meter, 1vey/15 min.) obserment other than these about. First Species noted is in a bryon on ridge—the non legulate form.
