July 14 Of the old beach ridge particularly the area immediately adjacent to the drop off they are somewhat more common but even then not too abundant + mud less than 1 per sq. meter, per 15 minutes. Betacites blooms as beans and borne then only on slant stalks about 1/2 to 1/3 height of last years dead stalks. At antbglula pond there is a band of death midges along the edge (windward) which is about 3" to 6" in breadth. The midge (Chironomus) habel which came I on July 12 are among the dead other are still emerging but then not as on July 12. A few Trichoptera adults of Micrasema sciassum are noted on the vegetation. Water traps had only Dytes cido — see count sheet. Ramunculus flowers are on the decrease. and rapidly drying up. Counts on willow ridge area gave ±30 Fungivoid (including Sciardi) occasional anflun gid, ±10 Chironomid adult, ±3 Muscid flies and an occasional chloronium.
