Jylland 1953 July's observed. Anthomyids - only 2 specimens of both sexes. Sciarids were only occasionally observed. Fire going is the total insect composition acids from soil & gammin. I did find 2 adults of the Sallid in a saucer can but well water, soaked & probably went in last toxic. And one willow there were 2 immature Sallids. The Betasilitis is blooming a bit more but only scattered blooms & this species is not near so common or showy as last. On the first Scan metr. plot there are but 4 flower stalks. Three large areas of last year blooms are only a fraction of what they were as far as vegetative & flowering or encumbered. Ranunculus not near so abundant t are confined to moist areas a area East of ridge towards marsh. Aschelitis pink tops had nothing in them. Only a few adult ridges (thummers) of very large type seen. The Sal. frays are beginning to bloom as is also the Kemp. The purple Pedicularis near Wilmansby Part is about 1/2 size of last year & the plants are considerably 1/2 the size of last year. Wrinkle beer observed.
