June23 Anthomyiid flies beginning to emerge and were fairly active in spite of rain. Spider count down on last time, Colomba activity confined to localized situations and their abundance ran around ±50 per sq meter/15 minutes of observation. Why an occasional specimen of Colomba observed during counts in plots. Ramunculus rivalis blooming a bit more profusely, possibly 50 blossoms in area about the ridge plots + mostly on high ground 1st bloom of this noticed in June 17. Cetaceite buds becoming much more noticeable and swelling quite rapidly. June26 Chironomids of at least 6 spp emerged and the larger eggs (2) hatched in awaroma. Some mating occurred on the ponds when water level has fallen to almost dry or many of the ridge pools. Anthomyiids were quite active most particularly in the marshy areas of the ridge. Spider count was up (see sampling data). On Cetaceite pools spider count way up ±5 per sq. meter. A Willow area Tenchidiidae emerged but in numbers less than 1/sq meter.
