Ithurd 1953 Pt. Banas, Alaska June 15 Day spent in lab. June 16 " " June 17 Spent am at Britton mana. Afternoon on ridge plots. Weather clear with a very low clouds to slight light east wind. First specimen of reaas taken; another sp of Staphylinid showed up. Immature Saldid found in cor. at first scar. Super activity is spiders - a few colubulae. Tearing up moss clumps we can find Muronid pupae. No Chrysomela adults or larvae could be demonstrated. Ridge is fully free of snow. The willow patch is drying up. Two flowers of Ranunculus found rare in bloom. Pedicularia plants in evidence on ridge near Wil. morsky pass. The Scopaeum flies can be found at most of the dead lemming carcasses. Smyrpu population between wil, morsky Pass & Sample area is almost 4 pairs. Their feeding is about on the moss clumps - seeds are still being taken. No evidence of anthurmidia midge adults as yet. I caught a vesel while studying the general ridge for insect activity. 5 more moth pupae were found. June 18 Britton mana sampling day, 9.V
