Can count: ±100 collembola; 8; 5 slaphylenid; 2 canids
Surface fauna: consists almost wholly of midges + a
few mosquitoes. great swarms move constantly
moving across the plot during the count & small
resting on the surface vegetation ?±200 per 5 minute
count. 3 spiders in regular 15 minute count as well as
1 ephydrid.
Berlesse sample: 6 mm of collembola + mites in 8×90mm
vial - 12 hr sample sand
