R. A. Hamilton 1965 Vulpes fulva June 18 Barrow Abolter. A Red Fox was seen in the area S at Family Lagoon. It was about 300 yds away and it stood and watched us (Pook and I). After several minutes it turned and walked away. This fox does not seem as red as those I have seen earlier and looked a conspicuous white-tip to the tail. It looked very similar to a fox that is kept here for Physiology experiments however. June 24 A Red Fox was observed running in the barrel area. This fox looked different than the one observed on June 18; it was more ragged looking. Aug 17 A young Red Fox was observed near me at th AACS sheds. It could be approached to within about 10 ft. without being seen when I returned to th wreck it followed my tracks. It then went and picked up a dead goose and shook it in its tail like a puppy would a shoe. Aug 20 A Red Fox was observed on th. far side of Wits Crack near lime TUB. It was laying curled up asleep and would not have been noticed except a Big Tail but it flew about 20' away from it. It set up and looked like it might try to catch the Godwit. The Godwit flew. The fox then walked about 50 yds, to E and lay down again.
