Pluvialis dominica Jun. 20 flies with very slow deep wingbeats (like a moth) and utters a two-part, flute-like vocalization continually. It is something like "tew-lee". Jun. 21 Paired birds were observed scattered about. The flight display was observed several times. Jun. 22 Paired birds were observed scattered about. The flight display was seen once. June 23 No birds of this species were seen June 24 About 10 birds were observed scattered about the tundra. The aerial display was observed once by three different birds. June 25 About 5 pairs were observed. The aerial display was observed once. June 26 Two birds were observed flying N over ARL June 27 Five were seen Jun. 28 A flock of 15 was found in Micronut. with two nests found; a Hudsonian Godwit and Black-billed Plover. Jun. 29 Four were seen. A one egg nest was found on Cristin Ridge, N end. June 30 Egg found yesterday in steeple cold. About 20 in percent in Central Marsh. July 1 Eight were seen. May still contain as eggs—probably abundant. July 2 A flock of about 25 was found in Micronut Marsh. A pair act like a nut in your life [illegible]. July 3 A flock of 15 in Micronut July 4 The nut more like [illegible] was found. It is located on top of lichen covered polygon.
