Aquila chrysaetos
Aug. 4 Cap. Thompson - An immature was seen in the mountains
N at camp. It's tail base was white but had golden
feathers on the heads. It was seen standing on a
greeny hillside and flying over a valley.
Aug. 7. Two Golden Eagles were seen separately, one was
adult and one was immature but different than the
one seen on Aug. 4. They were both seen flying
over the valley which contained the creek. They
both were pursued by long-tailed jaegers.
Aug. 8 The Golden Eagle which was seen on Aug. 4
was seen at the W end of the mountain to
the N end at camp. It took off from thick
tree flow E in the valley. It was quickly
pursued by several long-tailed jaegers.
