Anas acuta Barrow Alaska Jun. 19 A flock at seven ducks was observed flying N over S. Salt Lagoon. Jun. 29 A flock of 30 Pintail was observed flying over Grulin Rd. Northwest Jun. 30 Seven Pintail were observed in Central Marsh on a small pond. July 10 Seven were seen in Central Marsh. July 11 Eleven were seen flying in the vicinity of Lake Iknorville. Aug. 4 Cape Thompson - One P was seen flying in th. Creek bottom. Aug. 7 One female with five young was flushed from a willow thicket in th. creek bottom. The young run to th. water where they swim. The female is found with her wings dragging making noises and seemed to be giving a rather attractive distraction display I photographed the young but could not find them together with the mother in the picture. The young were about one-half grown.
