38 miles S. Eureka, Humboldt C. Calif. June 15, 1933 (cont.) Saline 1933 month. Road from Duck South follows the rocky & lagoon studded coast line to Eureka. Bishop Pines were seen in a small grove about half way between. In Eureka we stopped at Mr. Davis' house to examine his rare shore birds from Humboldt Bay & also picked up a f Mr. Lynx skull from a garage owner & turn printer, Mr. Barr.(see notes & J. Gummell). J. Gummell left at 5:10 on NW Pacific coast which Belle + I drove south, & camped in redwoods some 38 miles south of Eureka. June 16, 1933 Up at Dawn & drove Steadily NW To Berkeley where we arrived at 3:30 P.M. En route we noted sparrow hawks & chip munks as numerous. This was Grand in Mendocino & Sonoma Counties.
