688 Schwartz Minks for meeting & raising. Mr. Feld- 1933. Miller was most interesting. Had dinner at Cabbs Hotel & spent nights at Wieder's. May 31, 1933 Left Wieder's at 8:00 AM; drove 21 miles to Eureka, hence 8-10 miles S Eureka or a few miles N. W. from Eureka a road branched off & right. This, The Weaversville Road, we took & drove 50 miles to Willows Creek. En route we crossed two ridges; just just west of the ridge by Redwood Creek. South Fork ridge is long called Anne Mountain and a road leads S.W. from the pass over which the main highway goes. After provisioning at Willows Creek, on Dinny River, which is very muddy from hydraulic mines near Seaverville, and interviewing Ranger Dist. Frakes at Sugal R.S., we drove up the ridge road. For it was rough & rocky & just short of summit of Snow Mt. we were stopped by snow. Party J MacSinity & Spanelling, James. Botanists were also freed up by snow. Finally Camped in a small flat without water.
