Gilmore PELAGIC CORMORANT (5) 1931 From Unalaska to English Bay. Shags enough. I have not seen any birds here this fall with the characteristic white flanks. Oct. 3. English Bay, W. Unalaska Is., Aleutian Is. About 20-30 of these birds (Spec. No. 2217 is one) on some low rocks about 50 yds from shore on the middle north shore of the bay. They were quite wary and flopped heavily off the rocks when I was several hundred yards off, but with their usual curiosity they circled about for quite a while. Oct. 7. Akutan Pass, W. Aleutian Is. A few were in evidence in the pass along in Unalaska Bay. Lone birds and pairs may be encountered for almost anywhere in these waters and I noted them occasionally where- ever I have been: English Bay, Urelga Pass, Beaver Inlet, etc. Oct. 25.
