Tho the squirrels are not in much evidence just now on account of the tall dense vegetation, they are still very much present, their identity being often betrayed by a loud short whistle or squeak. By far the majority of the population seems to be made up of young of the year. The three ripples in the anus, much as described on preceding pages from the squirrels of Point Hope, are present and are greatly in evidence when an animal is being extracted from a trap.
