Gimme Citellus 1 1931 May 31— Vralaska, Vralaska S. Alaska ♀ have 5 paws teats, 1 inguinal, 2 abdominal, 1 thoracic, 1 axillary. B's, especially old, very scarred + cut, probably from fighting with each other for food. Seem to store up supplies of fern bulbs Polypodium (refers Mason 1931—No 6037) Very common. found from sea level up to tops of high hills 200' high. Burrows everywhere. They probably are the principal source of food for foxes + hawks. June 11 Vralakleet, Norton Sd. Alaska Said to be common in hills 3 miles back of town. I saw 4 inside out peltts in Ekmud's house Used for parkas & trimmings etc. June 17 Nome Alaska — one seen alongside of road as we drove to gold drages. Stood on hind quarters like picket pin. June 21— July 12 Sevoonga S. Lawrence Sd., Bering Sea, Alaska. Not very Common tho perhaps in places
