Gilmore MUSTELA VISON - MINK 1931 July 12 St. Lawrence Is., Bering Sea. Otto Wm. Furst is preparing to plant Mink on some of the streams on the island but as yet has not done so. He feels confident that they will live and flourish, tho there may be some danger of the streams & ponds freezing solid in winter. Aug. 26. Kotzebue, Kotzebue Sd., Alaska Hundreds of mink come into the trading stores from the Noatak, Kobuk, and Selawik Rivers. A good prime W. 1 skin brings 10-15. Sept. 15 Unalaska, Unalaska, Alaska, Aleutian Is. According to Albert Olson, mink are found on the end of the Alaska Peninsula but are not very common. Perhaps they even extend to Unmak Is.
