Gilmore McKay's Snow Bunting
1931 Sept. 1 St. Matthew Is., Bering Sea.
During 3½ hrs ashore, I saw
about 75-100 of these large "snow
flakes". They were in flocks of
10-20 and preferred the rocky
slopes and hill tops to the
flats below. Quite tame.
