567 Gilms PRIBILOF SNOW BUNTING 1931 May 31 Unalaska, Unalaska Is., Alaska. Quite common on foothills. Black + white coloration conspicuous. June 3 Cape Etolin, Nunwak Is., Alaska Several pairs seen around the rocks on the beach - allow very close approach. June 21-July 12 Sevoonga, St. Lawrence Is., Bering Sea, Alaska Common- seen in pairs & generally near the beach or rocky cliffs or creeks. Point Hope Arctic Ocean, Alaska Aug 2. About 20 have been seen - plumage subdued in tree, Aug 22. Commonest about the old village site & the mission graveyard. They feed about the ruins of the old houses & mounds & are quite tame. Often caught in mouse traps. Sept. 18. Unalaska, Unalaska Is., Aleutians So far I have seen "snowflakes" only on the crests of the highest peaks & ridges. They seem to confine themselves to this bleak rocky habitat.
