566 Gilmoе ALASKAN LONGSPUR (2) 1931 the peninoula. Their colors seem much more subdued - perhaps the fall moult is on & young birds are present in the groups. August 28 Common - apparently a resident bird. The white outer tail feathers and general dark brown plumage are distinctive sight features. Sept 18 Unalaska, Unalaska, Aleutians Not very common now. Noticed in the meadows, about the lagoons or on the outskirts of town.
